This animation demonstrates how the average slope of secant lines between a fixed point and a moving point on the parabola $f(x)=x^2$ gradually converges to the exact slope of the tangent line at that point. As the moving point gets closer, the changing slope values visually and numerically approach the final derivative value of 0.8.
