Navier-Cauchy Wave Propagation

This animation guides a civil engineering student through the physics of earthquake waves, starting from rock elasticity and the Navier–Cauchy equation, splitting them into P and S waves, and showing how they arrive at a station to create an accelerogram and frequency spectrum. It concludes by demonstrating how these seismic waves cause a structure to shake.
